Desert Doula Birth & Postpartum Services
Tucson, Arizona, USA

Loree Scheyli, CLD, CBC, LMT

Please note I am not taking Birth Doula Clients at this time.

The birth of Loree's son in 1991 left her grateful for a healthy baby.  Afterwards though, she was left feeling that some vital “thing” was missing from her birth.  A few years later, with great excitement, she read about the concept of doulas attending to women in labor.  In 1997 she attended her doula training and joined Desert Doulas.

Loree's path as a doula has steadily expanded to include additional training and certifications (LMT, lactation educator, postpartum doula) aimed at providing the best and most comprehensive care possible.   After many years of attending births, Loree has shifted her passion for birth into childbirth education aimed at building confidence in birth, breastfeeding and new parenthood.  Information explored in class is evidence based and is presented in a highly interactive, consumer oriented curriculum built around the Lamaze 6 care practices for a safer birth.  Check out the video clips at http://www.injoyvideos.com/mothersadvocate/videos.html  for a peak at these common sense care practices that facilitate birth.

Loree believes in the importance of optimal "start up conditions" for new parents and their babies and considers it an honor to be a part of this wonderful process. In addition to childbirth education she offers postpartum care to new parents on Tucson's NW side.

Loree has lived on the NW side of Tucson with her husband of 22 years and their 18 year old son, since 1988. Loree is a former dental hygienist. Her interests outside of pregnancy and birth include: camping, hiking, reading, gardening, quilting, needlework, and a great love of animals.
